Saturday I went to my last Sox game. Check out my flickr acct. for photos. Having a terrible time uploading images to the new and improved WordPress. So none here.
I took a tour of Fenway park. Did you know that Ted Williams hit a Yankees fan when he hit the longest inside the park home run? Did you know the Red Sox won a World Series by forfeit? Imagine not showing up for a World Championship? Sox don’t count it as a win though only an ALC.

Today I just got my ticket for Saturday, April 19 against Texas. This will be my last time to see the Sox before I leave the country. Boy will I miss the Red Sox.
I had thought that I might teach baseball to my new neighbors but I don’t know a splitter from a fastball so how am I going to teach anyone THE GREAT AMERICAN PASS TIME?
Will I be able to find Red Sox baseball on short wave radio? Will there be Red Sox fans in Africa when I get there? Will there be Red Sox fans in Africa when I leave?

On April 19, 2008 I will be at the Red Sox – Rangers baseball game at Fenway. Most likely my last game at Fenway before I leave for Africa. Getting this ticket was a lot like applying to the Peace Corps. It took persistence and determination.

This weekend was busy and crazy. My moving sale was Saturday and Sunday and the Red Sox won the American League Pennant! My friends and family came to support me as I divested myself of my worldly goods. So it was a riotous time instead of a sad time. My friend Helen was a tad frustrated with my willingness to “give things away” but I think I finally won her over! Many interesting people came through my door. One gentleman was chatting with Helen and I and his wife finally said “come help me shop”! Cyndi played monkey in the middle with my granddaughter, Fiya and I. Cyndi, Pat and Jeanette helped pack up things for storage and the salvation army. Liz, my daughter, came to check on me because I didn’t answer my phones. I gave her husband a small package of audio wires that she said they had enough of. never enough audio wires!
THANKS TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHO MADE THE WEEKEND SO FUN!
And thank you - Justin, Youk,Manny, Big Papi, Mike Lowell, J.D. Drew, Ellsbury, Lugo, Schill, Beckett and Dice K for a fantastic weekend. Looking forward to spending next weekend with you as well!
I BELIEVE!
GO RED SOX!

Will there be baseball and ice cream in Kuala Lumpur? No American Idol I suppose either. Had ice cream with ‘net today and wondered if this would be my last summer of ice cream for a while. Flipped between listening to the Red Sox and Yankees and watching Idol finale and wondered too how much i’ll miss baseball. TV not so much. I only watch two shows. 60 Minutes and Idol when I could. and Idol I can only stand because there are some talented people on. Ryan with his high drama on results night and Simon with his cruel criticism I could live without.
(No I don’t know where I am going yet. I just use Kuala Lumpur as a metaphor. )
